What is Lyric Hearing?
Unlike traditional hearing aids that fit into the category of daily wear hearing aids, Lyric is the first of a brand new category of hearing aids, extended wear hearing aids.
Daily wear hearing aids come in a variety of forms (behind the ear, in the canal, etc.) and are often removed for events such as exercising, sleeping, and showering. They are all designed with some portion of the hearing aid residing outside the ear or at the mouth of the ear canal.
Extended wear hearing aids are quite different. They are positioned entirely in the ear canal, so that it is 100% invisible to others. Once placed, extended wear hearing aids are left in the canal 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for up to 4 months at a time.Individual replacement needs can vary. They are even worn during daily activities such as talking on the phone, sleeping, showering, and exercising. Beyond invisibility and 24/7 wear, the deep placement of extended wear hearing aids provides many sound quality benefits such as minimized occlusion and reduced feedback. And unlike daily wear hearing aids, extended wear hearing aids have no batteries to change and do not require repairs.
